The Nyenrode Master in Management program encompasses two phases: The Pre-Master and the Master.
The objective of the Pre-Master Program is to provide all students with the necessary foundation in Business Administration which is needed as a basis for the Master program.
These courses can be considered as an introduction to the key areas within an organization, such as Strategy, Marketing, Operations Management, Accounting, Finance, Managerial Economics, Human Resource Management and Statistics for Business. Furthermore, Nyenrode offers a unique personal development course called International Managerial Development that runs during the full length of the Pre-Master and the Master Program.
The Master Program consists of four modules of six weeks each. In each module four or five courses are taught. The objective of the Master Program is to provide all students the personal and academic education in Business Administration to become an entrepreneurial manager. The entire program is taught in English. During classes students work on case studies, study literature and work on assignments or papers. Each module finishes with an examination.
The Master Program has three Majors:
- International Business / General Management
- Marketing Management
- Financial Management
For each Major, students team up in pairs to run an Internship and a Thesis project during the last three months of the Master Program. Typically, you will have to balance between applying your academic skills and working on an academic research problem within a real company. Most thesis projects have the benefit of a business sponsor which could mean that a thesis team travels abroad. Each thesis is defended by the students to a committee that includes the Nyenrode thesis supervisor, a second reader and a representative of the firm who sponsored the project.
The basic requirements for admission to the MSc program are as follows:
- At least a Bachelor's degree: no specific field is required
- An adequate background in mathematics
- A maximum of two years of work experience
