Employment and internship positions

One of the requirements for the Master of International Business is that students have a commercial job or internship position at an international organisation. Are you considering the Master of International Business but you don't currently have a job? You may be able to find a suitable position with one of the organisations in our network of companies.

Entry Requirements

To be admitted to the Master of International Business, you need to meet the following requirements.

Bachelors degree

You have a Bachelors degree:

  • in a business-related discipline such as international business and management, business administration, commercial economics, technical business administration or alike.

OR

  • a non-business Bachelors degree. In this case at least two years’ work experience in a commercial position in an international business setting is required. Assessment will be carried out to determine whether you need to acquire additional business knowledge and skills prior to enrolment.

Work

You work for (or are placed at) an international organisation (or an organisation which has the ambition to develop international operations) and occupy a commercial position at tactic/ strategic level* with responsibilities related to internationalisation.

*If you are placed at a company your assignment needs to reflect an international business problem at a tactic/ strategic level.

**If you are interested in the Master of International Business programme but you do not have a company willing to host you, please feel free to contact us as well. We will explore possibilities to bring your CV to the attention of potential companies from our business network.

AND

You have a contract with the employer which guarantees that you can investigate an international business related problem of the company during the study.

English

You must be proficient in written and spoken English. You can demonstrate that via a certificate (TOEFL minimum score 79 /Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) or /Proficiency in English (CPE)) or via an alternative proof which will be evaluated as part of your portfolio. If your English level is insufficient, you may follow a ‘bridging course’ at HAN Language Centre.

Interview

You will have in interview with the Programm Manager. During this interview your application portfolio and your motivation to enroll in the MIB program will be discussed. You will also discussed whether you would need to obtain some additional knowledge and skills prior enrolment, so that you can be better prepared to follow the program.
