Teaching is based on the most recent research, using mathematical background, needed in statistics, and forms a solid basis for PhD studies. Teaching and research is based both classical statistics and Bayesian approaches.
BIOMETRY AND BIOINFORMATICS
Biometry and bioinformatics constitute quantitative methodologies for life sciences, covering a wide spectrum of topics ranging from problems at the molecular level to populations and evolution, the gene mapping and epidemiology of complex diseases,systems and molecular biology and phylogenetics.
TIME SERIES ANALYSIS AND ECONOMETRICS
Time series analysis and econometrics focus on the theoretical and applied aspects of nonlinear and nonstationary trending time series, both univariate and multivariate. Economics is an important, but not the only, application area of interest.
The application period for International Master´s Programmes beginning the autumn of 2016 (2016 admissions) opens in early December 2015 and closes on January 27, 2016 at 3:00 pm (GMT +2). The electronic application form will be available during the application period only at Studyinfo.fi. Applicants who have completed their qualification degree outside of EU (European Union), EEA (European Economic Area) and Switzerland will be charged a non-refundable application fee of 100 euro.
