The Marine Biology Master aims to promote advanced multidisciplinary training in Marine Biology, providing skills for the analysis and understanding of marine biodiversity, from genes to ecosystems, their functioning and diversity.
The program includes a strong component of active participation in practical research projects, including laboratory and field work in different marine ecosystems.
Courses are taught in English. Typically, students come from a diversity of international backgrounds.
The Marine Biology Master has many professional applications in a wide range of fields ranging from marine biological conservation and resource exploitation to biotechnological innovation.
This program prepares the students for scientific, academic and technical careers in a wide diversity of fields in Marine Biology, such as: marine biodiversity assessment and conservation; marine protected areas – planning and management; marine biological resource use and management; monitoring of marine ecosystems; marine ecosystem restoration; blue biotechnology; marine natural products; marine ecotourism; marine environmental education; marine impact studies.
The MSc is also an essential training step towards continuing studies into a PhD.

A Bachelor's degree (or legal equivalent) in science, particularly biological sciences and related fields;
Criteria for selection of the candidates: a) Academic background; b) Final grade of BSc, c) professional experience.
