Master in International Tourism and Leisure Management (MA)

Do you want to become an expert on international tourism and leisure management with an understanding of both cultural and financial aspects? Language and economy


The education is a combined programme which comprises 50 % social science/economy subjects and 50 % linguistic and cultural subjects. The language of instruction is English.
The subjects have been created in collaboration with an expert panel, allowing you to obtain relevant qualifications for employment in the tourism sector.


A trade on the rise


We all travel on holiday across the world. The Danish tourism and leisure industry is growing. An MA in International Tourism and Leisure Management will provide you with qualifications to work in private and public businesses concerned with tourism, leisure and culture in Denmark and abroad. As an MA in Business, Language and Culture, you will be able to work independently on projects and analytical tasks within tourism and leisure.

More about the programme


The two-year graduate programme gives you the opportunity to specialise and advance your knowledge from your BA programme. As an MA in Business, Language and Culture, you will be able to independently address projects and analytical tasks within international tourism and leisure management. You are able to specialise further and tailor your studies through elective subjects to match your interests.

In the ninth semester, you are able to go abroad to do an internship or to study at one of our partner universities.

At the end of your studies, you write your thesis. A thesis is a report or project of about 60-100 pages. Along with your supervisor, you sign a contract. The thesis may be theoretical or written in collaboration with a business or a company.

Graduates who have completed this master programme are entitled to use the title of MA (Master of arts) in business, language and culture.


An international education


Because of our collaboration with foreign universities, there are always exchange students at our campus, ready to give you an invaluable insight into foreign cultures. A semester abroad doing an internship or taking elective courses will also qualify you internationally. Your future employers appreciate the maturity, knowledge and experience that is the result of a stay abroad.

We also offer the MA as Erasmus Mundus.

Entry requirements


Bachelors of Art (BA) in Business, Language and Culture (International Tourism and Leisure Management) have the right to be admitted.

Students with other corresponding undergraduate programmes will be qualified for admission after an assessment from the Study Board.
