This two-year master programme is based on companies need of employees with ability to initiate, lead and promote the creation of innovations. The program is taught in English.

In the students’ work with innovations, the student should balance the process in its various parts for function, design, durability and production conditions. This requires knowledge of, or interaction between, different disciplines where different approaches, perspectives and approaches utilized. The program is based on common projects often in collaboration with industry and organizations along with advancement in their own subject area and a broadening towards other disciplines (business and design).

Experiences from projects discussed and put in relation to the student's professional skills. In separate courses studied scientific method used in the innovation process.

Your future

The program trains students in project and innovation management, process and product development, business and system development, and social entrepreneurship. Students develop in-depth knowledge in technology while the interaction and sharing is done with design and business. Students going through the training will be able to create sustainable solutions that take account of function, form and resource efficiency.

General entry requirements for second-cycle studies and specific entry requirements:

  • 90 credits in the main field of study Mechanical Engineering including 7.5 credits in Solid Mechanics, alternatively 90 credits in the main field of study Forest and Wood Technology including 7.5 credits in Mechanics (including a degree project of at least 15 credits) or the equivalent.
  • 15 credits in Mathematics; Calculus I, (7.5 credits), and Linear Algebra/Vector Geometry (7.5 credits) or the equivalent.
  • English B/English 6 or the equivalent.

Tuition fee first semester: SEK 62,500

Tuition fee whole programme: SEK 250,000

Tuition fees do NOT apply for EU/EEA citizens or exchange students.
