The Master’s programme in Forest Sciences and Business (MScFB) aims at educating students to become professionals with versatile skills and expertise applicable to national and international forest sectors. Forest sciences as an applied discipline is founded on biology, ecology, geography, chemistry, physics as well as economics and social sciences. The programme is designed to allow the students to gain a broad knowledge base, to specialize in their own field, to think independently and critically, and to develop problem solving skills.
The MScFB programme is run by the Department of Forest Sciences with its internationally recognised strong teaching and research base. The two majors available are Forest Ecology and Management, and Forest Economics and Marketing. Students will acquire the essential scientific expertise and professional skills for doctoral studies and for working in the increasingly challenging and global forestry sector. In a world of climate change and mounting pressure on the environment, natural resources and society, an increasing need exists for qualified professionals to guide the sustainable use of forest resources. MScFB graduates are working across the forestry and natural resources sectors as experts, managers, and decision-makers in international and domestic companies, municipal and state administration, and research.
