This is a joint study programme. It is implemented and administered by the three partner-universities - Mykolas Romeris Univeristy (Lithuania), University of Tampere (Finland) and the Johannes Kepler University Linz (Austria).
The programme serves the purpose to improve students’ academic credentials and enhance their career prospects as highly qualified sociologists and welfare experts , to provide with systematic theoretical knowledge on social welfare and social research methodology, to enhance students’ skills to apply theoretical knowledge in the identification and analysis of specific social problems, comparing and evaluating social policies in countries representing different welfare state models, to improve students’ ability to conduct sociological research and to develop, implement and monitor social programs / social policy measures at national and international levels, to develop competences of intercultural communication.
Teaching and learning methods: Intensive programmes (2 weeks IP’s) in all partner universities in turn and distance learning classes (the online learning environment “Moodle”).
Bachelor's degree: graduates of university bachelor's studies in the area of social sciences (sociology, social work, political science, economics or in the other closely related field).
English language proficiency - the level not lower than B2 (following the Common Framework of Reference for Language approved by the Council of Europe). Distant English language level test is organized for those, who do not have IELTS or TOEFL certificates.
The academic qualifications provide a wide range of employment opportunities in Lithuania, other EU member states, European and international institutions, agencies of social services, non-governmental organizations, public opinion and market research companies. The graduates can proceed with academic career in research institutes and universities both in the country and abroad.
