Master in Art Management

The goal of the Art Management master’s study programme is to prepare top-qualification film, theatre, music art managers able to successfully integrate themselves into the Lithuanian and foreign film, theatre and music markets, analyse, assess changes taking place in such markets and react to them efficiently; initiate, mould, manage, analyse and assess processes and institutions of film, theatre and music arts.

The Art Management master’s study programme is aimed at expanding the theoretical knowledge and developing the applied skills necessary for a highly qualified film, theatre and music management professional: graduates are very much conversant with the latest artistic and industrial tendencies of film, theatre and music; they are aware of the directions of the contemporary cultural politics and economics; they know new principles of management and marketing as well as methods of preparing international cultural projects and conducting social surveys as well as the principles of how to apply them.


The in-depth knowledge and skills acquired under Art Management master’s study programme provide a possibility to work in private and public institutions engaging in the areas of film, theatre and music. Professional art managers enjoy good demand on the labour market and substantial interest from employers’ and successfully work in the industries of theatre, music and film, in particularly at film, dance, theatre studios, music and movie record studios, TV and radio stations, drama and musical theatres, festivals, concert establishments, arts centres, sponsorship foundations and information centres, etc., as producers, production workers, managers, consultants, curators, assistant directors, arts organisation managers, performing work relating to the creation, dispersion and propaganda of artistic artefacts of national culture and theatre, music and film as well as analysis of the art market.

Admission

The main requirement for entrants is Bachelor of Art.

Entrants shall submit to the Admission Committee:

  • application form with photo (3x4);
  • documents (originals) witnessing secondary education or their copies certified by a Notary Public;
  • certificate issued by the Lithuanian Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education concerning equivalents of subjects and transfer of grades;
  • copy of an order of the Minister of Education and Science concerning recognition of the qualification gained in a foreign country;
  • copy of passport (or ID);
  • housing application form (if needed).
