The master's degree in Advanced English Studies was created as a combination of the Master's degrees in Acquisition of English and Intercultural Communication and in Advanced English Studies: Literature and Culture. This master's degree provides theoretical and applied training in language acquisition in new contexts of multilingualism and multiculturalism, particularly in acquiring and teaching English as an international language.
The program in Advanced English Studies is addressed to B.A. graduates and holders of other higher qualifications with a high level of English. It is open to students from different areas who wish to gain formal training in a new specialization. This master's program is offered by the Dept. of English Philology at the FASE and it is part of the Official Postgraduate Program in Language and Literature.
Career options when you complete the Master's degree are: the teaching of English in secondary or higher education centres, English for business purposes such as in publishing houses or media companies, research and Phd studies.
Access to this master's degree is open to holders of an official bachelor's degree from a Spanish university or from another higher education institution within or outside the European Higher Education Area, provided this gives access to postgraduate studies in the country of issue.
To be admitted to the Master's degree you must hold an official university qualification valid for admission to Master's degree courses in the country in which it was obtained.
The Master's degree is addressed to graduates in language studies and in English studies in particular.
- Level of English equivalent to or higher than the C1 level of the European Framework of Reference, as demonstrated by a qualification or an interview.
In the case of there being more applicants than places available, the following criteria will be applied:

- Academic transcript (40%).
- Motivation letter (5%).
- Curriculum Vitae (20%).
- Reference letters (5%).

- 66€ per credit (non-EU citizens who do not hold a Spanish residence permit).
