The Master's Degree in Communication and Sports Journalism is intended to train media professionals and leaders who can raise sports to the category of a social phenomenon through the use of any medium in the current communications industry: written, multimedia, audiovisual or digital.
Real Madrid Graduate School - Universidad Europea contributes the experience of the most important sports club in the world and the rigor of Universidad Europea to design and offer a benchmark Master's Degree in the field of communication.
Thanks to agreements with sports companies and media, internships are available in the newsrooms of professional media for students before they enter the world of work.
Also, the Real Madrid facilities will be available throughout the program so that students can make full use of them.
The Master's Degree in Communication and Sports Journalism offers specialization for Journalism and Media Studies graduates. It is also an interesting option for students from the areas of economics, social studies or sports studies who want to explore sports journalism and excel in the new working environment that television and radio networks, digital media and sports newspapers demand. It is an excellent opportunity for graduates looking for a solid specialization in a Graduate Degree with very good job prospects.
At the end of the course, students will receive the Official Master’s Degree of Máster Universitario en Comunicación y Periodismo Deportivo.

Methodology and internships:
The methodology of the Master's Degree in Communication and Sports Journalism is based on a combination of six modules of theoretical and practical content, giving an in-depth understanding of sports and the media (alongside activities taught by professionals and the application of new technologies).
These modules are complemented by a master's thesis, internships in media newsrooms and sports entities (in professional and in research contexts, with different numbers of credits), and a training module focused on scientific research methods, in the case of the research specialization.
The course also includes conferences and gives students the chance to create their own radio and television programs, blogs and multimedia reports. Students will be able to participate in open dialogues with figures from the world of sports and professionals from leading media.
Thanks to role-playing exercises, students will experience real situations that professionals face in a sports newsroom: press conferences, interviews, crisis communication strategies, etc.
Students of the Master's Degree in Communication and Sports Journalism will also participate in a specific program of visits to the facilities of Real Madrid relating to the subjects studied.
Universidad Europea has fully equipped Media Studies facilities: newsroom with agency service, QuarkXPress, complete TV studios (set, production control room, virtual studio and editing booths with AVID and Final Cut systems, and other audiovisual equipment), and three complete radio studios with the latest technology in hard disk systems for broadcasting).
Students will visit ‘Real Madrid City’ and other club facilities during ‘White Week’ (Semana Blanca): a period of total immersion in the running of the best soccer club of the 20th century.
