MSc in Energy Management

Energy management is a relatively new and rapidly expanding field that combining expertise in management practices and strategies. Energy managers analyse and improve energy efficiency, assess environmental impact and develop policy across these areas.

Candidates who have successfully completed the modules on the Post Graduate Diploma in Energy Management may choose to register for the Masters Dissertation for a further 30 Credits. Having accumulated the full 90 Credits successful graduates will be awarded an MSc in Energy Management.

NOTE: Candidates cannot be conferred with a Post Graduate Diploma and an MSc, and they need to make a decision regarding progression to the MSc before completing the modules for the PgD.

Fees: €2,000 (30 Credit Dissertation/Thesis).

Post Graduate Diploma in Energy Management

The aims of this programme are, firstly, to develop awareness and skills in the area of energy management and conservation and secondly, to enable the student to carry out energy audits of industrial and public buildings.

Career Opportunities

Successful applicants may find career opportunities in the areas of energy management, facilities management, buildings energy ratings assessment. The qualification is also very relevant to professionals in the construction industry, including engineers, architects and interior architects.


Progression

On successful completeion of all the taught modules below the applicant may pursue a Masters degree in Energy Management by carrying out a dissertation.


Eligibility requirements:

The minimum entry requirements are: A 2nd class Honours degree Level 8 in a related discipline or equivalent. Other suitable applicants may be accepted on completion of an RPL process.
