The MSc in Energy Management (MEM) at ESCP Europe is a 18-month, full-time postgraduate programme for those aiming towards a career in the energy sector.
Taught in English at our London and Paris campuses and including an optional one-week seminar in the United States of America (Houston, TX), the MEM is delivered by a world renowned faculty and specially selected industry practitioners.
The MEM's objective is to help students understand the energy business environment and its fundamental economic and technological concepts. Participants will gain the ability to develop and implement strategies to address major issues in energy regulation and policy, as well as strengthening their ability to live and work in a highly multicultural and international environment.
The MSc in Energy Management programme aims to give students an integrated view of the various, industry-specific issues in order to cope with its complexity, thereby enabling them to deal effectively with the dramatic changes taking place.
With that in mind, the MEM offers the opportunity to:
- Understand the energy business environment and its fundamental economic and technological concepts.
- Gain the ability to develop and implement strategies to address major issues in energy regulation and policy.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of energy technologies, industries and markets.
- Strengthen your ability to live and work in a highly multicultural and international environment.
- Broaden your horizons by studying alongside students from a vast range of backgrounds, such as business management, economics, engineering and social sciences.
- Prepare to take on major responsibilities in tomorrow's economic environment by developing a personal vision of the globalised economy.

Where you study
The MSc in Energy Management offers its students the unique opportunity to study in two of the most vibrant cities in the world: London and Paris.
Six months of the programme are spent at the London campus. Situated in the northwest of the city, our UK base in West Hampstead offers modern facilities in beautiful Victorian building. The two nearest tube stations offer a fast route into the city centre and onward to the financial district; meanwhile West Hampstead provides a tranquil village feel with restaurants, shops and bars right on our doorstep.
The final three months of lectures take place at our campus in Paris. As the founding campus of ESCP Europe, this is the biggest and busiest of all our locations. There are more than 50 active student clubs and societies to join, as well as the vast range of cultural spots that Paris offers only a short Metro ride away. While the MEM is taught entirely in English, studying in Paris offers a great opportunity to brush up on your French and add a valuable language skill to your portfolio.
The programme includes an optional, one-week international seminar in the USA.
To be eligible you must have completed your higher education to a level equivalent to a Bachelor degree in any discipline. Honours degrees are preferred (2:1 or international equivalent).
The MEM does not require any previous knowledge of the energy sector. However, candidates must have at least one year of work experience (internships included; any industry acceptable - does not need to be energy-related).
Fluency in English is necessary. For non-native English speakers, we require the following minimum scores:
- TOEFL written test: 600
- TOEFL IBT: 100
- TOEFL computer-based: 250
- IELTS: band 7
Please note that we do not accept TOEIC scores.
If you are a non-native English speaker who has previously studied or worked for more than two years in an English-speaking country, you are exempt from providing a TOEFL or IELTS score. You will, however, have to be assessed by the selection committee during your admission interview.
As with all ESCP Europe's programmes, multi-campus study is an important and compulsory part of completing the MSc in Energy Management. It is vital all students have the relevant visas. ESCP Europe takes no responsibility for any student's failure to obtain these documents.
