MSc in Construction Management

The Master of Science in Construction Management program is designed to prepare technically qualified individuals for responsible management roles in the construction and operation of major civil engineering projects. Unlike a traditional engineering graduate program, the program offers the practical business perspective needed by manager in construction sector. It emphasizes planning and design skills that are specifically required in project-based organizations and encourages students to build on their technical backgrounds and experience.The program is based on a multidisciplinary approach to combine the essential components of civil engineering with the functional concepts of business management and behavioral science to develop a versatile and technically oriented individual capable of directing complex civil engineering projects. Many of the courses comprising the curriculum are common courses of Civil Engineering and Master of Business Administration (MBA). A number of courses are specially designed to satisfy the particular objectives of this program. University faculty members are supplemented by practicing professionals who bring a wealth of real-world experience to the course offerings. The lecturers will provide students with both a theoretical and practical understanding of their subjects. Those who successfully complete the examinations will qualify for a Master Degree.
The course structure is in full compliance with the Masters Degree Regulations of the Higher Education Council of Turkey (YOK), published in the Official Gazette dated 1 July 1996.
We offer two options to the students:
M.Sc. With Thesis
The Program consists of 8 courses (24 credits), one seminar and a Thesis. The Seminar and Thesis are non-credit. One year is required for the Thesis after completion of the courses.
A total of 30 credit hours are required of candidates for the MSc. Degree Non-Thesis. The Program consists of 10 courses (30 credits hours) plus a term - project (non-credit) normally completed in 2 semesters. The maximum time limit for completion of the Program is two years. This may only be extended in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of the Faculty Postgraduate Board.
A CGPA of 3.00 or above is required for graduation. Therefore students must have an average grade of B or above on all courses. A student who has not achieved GPA/CGPA of 3.00 will be allowed to repeat failed courses. If any student fails twice in the same course his/her registration will be cancelled.
BSc Degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture with a CGPA of at least 2.00 is required for admission.
Students must have at least 70% attendance in each course.
Registration fee is 300 USD (American Dollar) per course.
