Bassem ShakerI have recently finished the Masters in Mobile Application Design, run by the School of Engineering and Digital Arts at the University of Kent. The programme was a great way for me to learn about developing and designing mobile applications. The programme maintained a fine balance between the practical and the theoretical and it gave me hands on experience in making mobile apps. The course covered all areas of mobile development from human computer interaction, mobile development, web development and even finishing a project for a client as part of the curriculum.
Mobile is currently at the center of innovation in computing as more people carry mobile devices from phones, tablets, and smart watches. More and more ubiquitous devices pop up every day around us and I think that having this Masters qualification has equipped me extremely well to participate in this wave of computing.
Right now I'm working at a startup in London called Happiness Works, making web and mobile software with the aim of helping companies measure happiness in the work place. Having a Masters Degree under my belt has definitely helped with my prospects in getting the job.
