Program Description

MSc Management and Finance

Nottingham Business School, Nottingham Trent University

Our MSc Management degrees are aimed at students with either no background in business and management who want to develop a career in this field, or students who have a qualification in business and management but want to become more competitive and progress their careers.

This route explores the global financial marketplace, including its structure, participants, regulatory functions and their role in society. It then focuses on the analysis of financial statements to improve management decision-making, as well as the role of ethics and sustainability.

You'll consider key aspects of the financial management of corporations in a multinational environment. This will help you develop a detailed understanding of key finance theories, as well as strong critical analysis skills.

Why study this course?
The course will equip you with broad knowledge across a wide range of management subject areas and enable you to develop more specialist knowledge as it progresses.
You can add a year's work placement, making your master's a two-year course.
You'll complete a hands-on project, giving you a fantastic opportunity to use the theories and knowledge you've gained to produce a meaningful piece of work. Projects include Consultancy Experience Project, Internship, Business Research Project and Global Experience Project.
It is a conversion masters and is therefore not restricted to those with a business or management related first degree.
Our partnership with the CMI means that on successful completion of this course you will receive the MSc Management and Finance and the CMI Level 7 Diploma in Management and Leadership.
The course will provide you with a grounding in the key functional areas of business and the way that these areas are integrated in globally orientated organisations.
It will also develop your specialist knowledge in corporate finance and risk management.
Students on these routes typically come from over 25 different countries, which means you will have a truly international learning experience.
You will complete a comprehensive development programme, which includes a short residential team-building course in the Peak District.
You can learn from the best by attending guest lectures from leading organisations. Previous speakers have included representatives from organisations such as E.ON, Lego, Experian, Santander, and IBM.
