This specialization prepares you to engage organizations and communities in social change. You will learn to help organize, coordinate, promote, and lead efforts in communities to improve living and working conditions and assess community needs. This program emphasizes action research, in which you will develop knowledge about working with communities. You will also describe and apply theories of community psychology in relation to social change.
With this specialization, you could work in a variety of settings as a community organizer, community worker, or program director for social services or human services in governmental and NGO organizations.
