Spin Data into Insight
Fordham's Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) will help you to spin data into insight.
There is a need across industry for sharp thinkers who can harness the power in massive pools of information—about consumers, performance, productivity, and any other topic you can imagine.
Through an MSBA, you will acquire the core skills of business analytics: applying quantitative and qualitative methods and tools to data to enable informed, strategic business decisions.
Create Competitive Advantage
Companies are confronting an urgent need to stay ahead of the competition and an onslaught of collected data that demands interpretation. An MSBA will give you skills they can use.
Be part of this rising discipline. Business analytics is helping companies to grow, differentiate themselves from competitors, make smart choices about products and pricing, improve their efficiency, and perform better. Let Fordham teach you how to uncover unexpected associations and patterns that will give companies a reason to improve and change.
Why an MSBA?
Business analytics is a unique mix of the technical and the managerial.
Fordham’s program will prepare you for jobs that require that mix—putting you in a prime position to be hired. Individuals with this special skill set are in low supply but great demand.
In the MSBA, you will learn data- and model-driven decision-making. Your curriculum will bring together analytics techniques, data management, information technology, modeling, and statistical analysis to make you an effective analyst and an informed user of business data.
Who should apply to the Fordham MSBA?
People with degrees in quantitative disciplines—such as business, economics, computer science, engineering and statistics—who want to develop advanced skills to solve complex business problems
Graduates of MBA programs who seek more in-depth business analytics expertise Experienced professionals who want to advance their careers through specialized training in applying business analytics to their field, such as marketing or finance
Focus on Technology
The MSBA is not a general business program. It is a technically focused program with managerial elements. Students should be excited to learn cutting-edge IT applications and tools, break down complex data sets, and develop analytical and decision-making skills within specific industries.
MSBA candidates will need some foundational knowledge in statistics, forecasting and modeling. Accepted students who have not acquired this knowledge through prior schooling or work will have an opportunity to fill the gap by taking one or two Fordham graduate business courses prior to starting the MSBA program, as determined by the program director.
