Leading the Way in Asia Pacific Rim Business Education

PSU's Master of International Management (MIM) Program is a leader in graduating uniquely qualified business professionals. Providing leadership within the rapidly growing Pacific Rim markets, MIM graduates can be confident in their intensive business education grounded in a solid MBA curriculum enhanced by cross-cultural communication, language training in Mandarin Chinese or Japanese, and Asian field study.

MIM students enter the program well prepared for international business studies.

■Most students hold a 4-year undergraduate degree in business, social science or humanities
■Most have maintained a 3.1 average GPA as an undergraduate
■Majority have at least 5 years of work experience  
■40-50% of the student class are foreign nationals

The MIM program provides students with a collegial, fast-paced experience.

■Program follows a collaborative, cohort model
■Program commences with an exciting outdoor sports orientation that provides the cooperative skills foundation essential to cohort learning 
■Students complete the 75-credit program in as little as 15 months (full-time) or 27 months (part-time)

The MIM prepares professionals for careers in the dynamic markets of Asia’s Pacific Rim region.

■Communications fluency: students choose either Madarin Chinese or Japanese for their mandatory 200 hrs. in Asian language study 
■Many classes taught by current industry leaders for maximum exposure to “real world” issues 
■Cultural immersion: program tuition includes a 3-week Asian study tour through Japan, China & South Korea

International Business Curriculum: students complete a core of specialized finance, management & marketing courses

International Research Project: Each student commits to a 200 hr. employer and client-based, real-world training experience 

Focused Specializations: Students select one of four specializations in International Social Entrepreneurship and Sustainability, Global Marketing, Global Supply Chain Management or International Finance

MIM Career Opportunities

All MIM graduates agree on one thing: their MIM skills have been key to greater career success. In part due to their training in leadership competencies that requires strong self-awareness and self-management, MIM graduates know that a full measure of job satisfaction runs deeper than just title and salary. Our alumni report high job satisfaction because they have positioned themselves as specialists in a fast-growing niche of the world’s economy. This specialization translates well in today’s keenly competitive career marketplace---out of our 2006 graduating class an astounding 94% were placed in jobs within 3 months of graduation!

Many MIM alumni have gone on to fill management positions at major corporations in the private sector. These graduates report that higher salaries and increased job satisfaction are two important benefits they value as a result of their MIM degree. Some corporations that MIM alumni have gone on to fill management positions with include: Adec, Nike, Intel, Hewlett-Packard, Tektronix, Columbia Sportswear, IBM, MCI, Shimadzu Corp., and Univertical China. Some corporate job titles now enjoyed by MIM alumni include: International Marketing Coordinator, Manager of Asian Marketing, National Export Manager, Supply Chain Manager, and Business Development Associate.
