Program Description

 

The Master of Laws degree (LLM) is the traditional, and most recognized, Masters degree in common law countries for law graduates and requires the completion of coursework and a minor dissertation at the University of Canberra. Admission is open to law graduates or the holders of equivalent qualifications provided that applicants have completed their undergraduate course, or equivalent, at the credit average standard or above. Bachelor of Laws graduates may be granted exemption for the compulsory unit Advanced Legal Research and Writing PG where they have successfully completed that unit or an equivalent unit within 5 years prior to admission. In that event, the applicant shall undertake an approved PG level unit in lieu of that unit. Advanced standing of up to two PG level units may be granted on the basis of successful completion of comparable Masters level units at a recognised Australian or foreign university....
