School Overview
Kent Business School is the business and management faculty of the University of Kent. Founded in 1989, the School moved into light, modern and professional facilities which were purpose-built in 1992 on the Canterbury campus. Over the last three years, the School has grown in size, offering a portfolio of programmes at the new Medway campus and, since March this year, will be responsible for the Applied Business Management degree and other postgraduate programmes in partnership with Imperial College London at Wye.

Our vision is to be recognised as a European Business School with areas of analytical expertise that are considered as points of reference within the academic and professional worlds.
The Kent Business School mission is:
- to produce and disseminate knowledge that will be internationally influential for our disciplinary communities, policy makers and organisational executives

Objectives that support the mission are:
- To ensure that our teaching and enterprise activities are informed by the internationally recognised and rigorous research of our faculty and research centres. Particular areas of excellence include: management science, agri-environmental economics, food supply chain and marketing, business performance especially in SMEs.
- To maintain a strong interdisciplinary focus through the organisation and working practices of the school to enable us to take a holistic approach to managerial issues.
- To develop in our students an awareness of the critical and ethical dimensions of managerial practice.

With this in mind we give you the option to study further computing material during your degree programme and register for the degree of MSc in Management Science with Computing. This version of the MSc will be of interest to you if you intend to follow a career in Management Science with an emphasis on computing aspects or if you want to follow a programme with a greater bias towards computing.The aim of the MSc programme is to give a good grounding in Management Science techniques, including the general management and decision-taking context within which such techniques are used. Special emphasis will be placed on the most up-to-date good practices and methodologies, including the use of computer tools to assist in the tasks of management. The diversity of staff interests offers a wide range of research opportunities for postgraduate students in the Business School. It is possible for research degrees to be undertaken on both a full and part time basis. Under acceptable circumstances, research studies may be pursued overseas. It is assumed that all registered students will undertake original research within their chosen topic and that the work completed will be of publishable standard either in the form of scholarly articles or academic books. All research students are allocated to supervisors with whom they are expected to have close intellectual relationships. They are expected to attend research seminars both within the Business School and the University. They are also strongly encouraged to attend relevant academic conferences and, in their final research year, to offer papers at these.All newly registered students are expected to attend a research training programme. The Kent MBA in Athens is available in an modular executive weekend format in Athens, hosted by our partner institution the Hellenic Management Association.
The content of the MBA is identical to the one delivered in Kent using the same international faculty. The option of an additional residential module at Kent has been included to allow participants on the Athens programme to gain an international dimension and experience.
Participants will do 10 weekend modules in Year One and 10 weekend modules in Year Two. One module is completed over two weekends.
