School Overview

 

Kent Business School is the business and management faculty of the University of Kent.  Founded in 1989, the School moved into light, modern and professional facilities which were purpose-built in 1992 on the Canterbury campus. Over the last three years, the School has grown in size, offering a  portfolio of programmes at the new Medway campus and, since March this year, will be responsible for the Applied Business Management degree and other postgraduate programmes in partnership with Imperial College London at Wye.

The Kent Business School mission is:

The diversity of staff interests offers a wide range of research opportunities for postgraduate students in the Business School. It is possible for research degrees to be undertaken on both a full and part time basis. Under acceptable circumstances, research studies may be pursued overseas. It is assumed that all registered students will undertake original research within their chosen topic and that the work completed will be of publishable standard either in the form of scholarly articles or academic books. All research students are allocated to supervisors with whom they are expected to have close intellectual relationships. They are expected to attend research seminars both within the Business School and the University. They are also strongly encouraged to attend relevant academic conferences and, in their final research year, to offer papers at these.All newly registered students are expected to attend a research training programme.
