General Information 

The University incorporates 11 Departments, preliminary training courses, 32 Chairs, R & D Division, Ph.D. courses, administrative divisions and maintenance services, a scientific-information centre, commercial centres, social facilities, teaching-auxiliary, cultural and educational subdivisions. 

There exist two University affiliates in Segezha (the Republic of Karelia) and in Kuvshinovo (the Tver oblast).

More than 300 teachers are working at the University including 50 Full Professors, 180 Associate Professors. Of 5000 students learning at the University, 3000 are full-time students.

M.Enggn Telecommunications

M.Engg in Telecommunications (MTEL) is designed for those with an education or professional background in Science/Technical areas and wishing to equip themselves with the up- to- date skills and expertise to make strategic, technical, financial and management decisions that are reliable, well grounded and commercially viable in the ever changing world of Telecommunication. The program is offered jointly by the Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Science and Information Technology.

This 36 (Thirty Six) credit hour M.Enggn Telecommunications program is designed to produce future telecommunication managers who understand telecommunication operations from the management, finance, legal and regulatory perspectives. It prepares the students for professional careers in engineering with specialization in Telecommunications with an in-depth knowledge in specific areas chosen to best fit their career aspirations. This MTEL Degree provides them with the knowledge to be competent and efficient engineers in telecommunications. The curriculum has been designed in close association with similar programs pursued in various Universities across America, Canada and Australia. The Program is conducted in a way that enables the graduates to plan, analyze, design, implement, operate, test, maintain and manage the telecommunications systems and business. The Engineering Systems Management (ESM) graduate program provides the technical and managerial skills for engineers of all disciplines to manage people, processes, and projects in an effective and efficient manner. Accredited by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the ESM program is designed based on quality standards similar to those followed by similar programs in the United States. The program is launched in 2002 as the first such program in the region and has become one of the most popular graduate programs at the American University of Sharjah.
