The School of Computer Science at Reykjavík University offers a two-year (120 ECTS) graduate program leading to an MSc degree in Computer Science. The program is taught in English and can be taken with either research-based emphasis or course-based emphasis.

All students enter into the course-based track. Students who demonstrate exceptional qualifications during the course of their M.Sc. studies can apply to enter the research-based track. Applicants who do not hold a first degree, but have relevant professional qualifications such as a Class 1 Certificate of Competency can apply, provided they have work experience at a level considered by the Department of Maritime Business to be equivalent....

Reykjavik University offers programs leading to the MSc degree in Civil Engineering in four different fields of specialization:

Construction Management with an emphasis on interdisciplinary cooperation with RU´s  School of Law and School of Business.  Main subjects of study are:   Construction Management, Cost Engineering, Project Management, Scheduling, Facilities Management, Operations Analysis and Management , Risk Analysis, Value Engineering, Logistics, Legal Aspects in the Building Sector, Organizational Psychology and Human Resource Management.

Structural Design with an emphasis on the interaction of engineering and architecture, the interaction of  building materials and design, as well as structural analysis and specialized aspects of the physics of buildings.  There is also a major emphasis on innovation in the search for technical solutions and the development of new methods and sustainable solutions in the design of structures and in the use of building materials....

An introductory part of the Master course will be set aside to provide an insight into the awareness and culture on which sustainability is based, presenting the different contexts in which it can be applied, retracing the history of the exploitation of renewable resources right up to an overview of current transnational energy policies. From a socio-scientific point of view the relationship between economics and ecology will be explored alongside the one between the climate and developable energy policies, by addressing issues such as Housing Evolution and the Green Economy.

Lessons and courses will specifically look into design methods, how continuous research and analysis can be fostered, the different representation (sketching, 3D modelling, rendering) and simulation techniques (Ecotec, Radiance), how the project can be communicated and the evaluation of innovative materials and production technologies....

Language Technology (LT) is a research and development field with the eventual goal of enabling people to communicate with machines using natural communication skills. LT is an interdisciplinary field which covers subjects like computer science, linguistics, statistics and psychology.
