The programme, subject to approval by Academic Council, is designed for business graduates who wish to develop advanced knowledge and skills of application in focussed areas of strategy and innovation. These fields are changing rapidly from both a theoretical and practice perspective as challenges continue to be brought forth from globalisation, technological advancement. The proposed programme will enable graduates to develop an advanced understanding of new ways of working which so as to promote creativity and innovation. The programme will expose students to leading edge practice in organisations through field visits, case studies, and guest lectures.
The proposed programme aims to contribute to the development needs of future managers and employees in both public and private sector organizations. The course (MSc in Strategy and Innovation) material and case studies take a broad cross-sectoral and international approach, as management concepts and frameworks are generic and applicable across all sectors and boundaries. The programme aims to benefit learners through exposing them to key professional concerns in the light of insights from other sectors and contexts. Some cases will be based in the Irish context, while others have a broader trans-national focus, exploring themes and issues that transcend national boundaries and cultures.
Who is the course (MSc in Strategy and Innovation) for?
Candidates should have a minimum 2.2 grade honours (level 8) degree in a business discipline or equivalent. Applications from candidates who hold a non-business degree and have at least five years relevant work experience that includes a management role will be considered. In exceptional circumstances consideration will be given to candidates who do not hold a primary degree, but who do have at least 10 years relevant work experience at least 3 of which must be in a management position.

How is the course (MSc in Strategy and Innovation) delivered?
This is a one-year 12 month full-time (24 months part-time) taught masters programme. Students work individually and in teams on projects in between classes. During the summer semester students conduct an individual research project. Students must attend a minimum of 80% of the classes.
The learning experience is challenging and participatory. Student engagement in the process is key and classes and tutorials utilise considerable interaction between student and and teaching staff. Extensive use of blended learning technologies is the norm as students build a portfolio of work over the duration of the programme.
