MA in Economics

Bilkent University
[Turkey, Ankara]
Graduate programs in economics aim to train students in such a way to enable them to carry out independent research.

Graduate programs in economics aim to train students in such a way to enable them to carry out independent research. For this purpose, the programs are designed to ensure that the students get a solid background in both economic theory and the techniques used in empirical research. While the Department offers both M.A. and Ph.D. degrees, the M.A. degree is considered, in principle, as an intermediate step that is passed en route to the Ph.D. The core requirements common to both programs leave little room for choosing the courses to be taken in the first year, but the students are offered considerable flexibility as to their choice of the fields of specialization later on.

MSc in International Economic Consulting

Aarhus School of Business
[Denmark, Aarhus. 9500 EUR]
The MSc programme in International Economic Consulting is organised to prepare students for various job functions within this context.

What are the total costs and benefits of building a new airport in Berlin? Should farmers in Bangladesh receive direct financial support or just price guarantees? How many cars will need a parking space in Copenhagen in 2012? How can CO2 quotas be priced and distributed in a market efficient manner? Which pipelines should be built in order to secure the EU’s future gas supply?

These and many other problems, their increasing complexity, their positioning at the border between economics and management and their placement in international contexts have been the backbone of the steadily growing demand for International Economic Consulting services. Large multinational corporations, regional and national policy makers, international organisations (like the World Bank, the EU and the OECD) and a growing number of non-profit interest groups require sound economic analyses and feasibility studies for an impressive range of issues and industrial sectors.  ...

MSC in Economia e Politica Internazionali

University of Lugano (Università della Svizzera italiana)
[Switzerland, Lugano, start date 20/09/2010, 16000 CHF]

Master of Science in Economics, Major in Economic Policy

The State plays a crucial and sometimes dominant role in modern market economies. The current economic and financial crisis is just a confirmation of this fact by strenghtening further the influence of the public sector on the economy. Irrespective of the area considered, from global warming to population ageing, the prosperity and the sustainable development of our societies depend largely on the soundness of the economic policies adopted at local, national and international levels. Economic analysis provides the essential tools for guiding decision-making, evaluating past and present policies, proposing efficient remedies, but also helping private agents adopt the right attitude towards various forms of State interventions....
