The faculty prepares specialists for chemical and pharmaceutical industries. As its primary activities the Faculty is the only in Russia issued qualified engineers for the production of drugs of different origin. Education is aimed at training generalists. For the first three years of study, students receive a deep engineering background and fundamental knowledge of chemical, biological sciences, mathematics, computer science, computer engineering. After the third year in accordance with his desire and demonstrated ability to choose one of three specializations:

• Biotechnology drugs (receipt of biologically active substances (BAS) by microbial synthesis);
• Chemical technology Ia drugs (receipt of BAS chemical synthesis);
• technology proprietary medicines and herbal remedies.

Study - daily.

Term of training - 5 years, ends with the diploma project or research work carried out on the topics provided by the graduate departments and approved by the methodical commission of the faculty.

In accordance with the expertise of the occupational activities of the graduate FPTL includes research and development of technologies for drugs using microbiological, chemical and physico-chemical processes and finished dosage forms.

The objects of professional engineer - technologist are: BAS, obtained by chemical and biotechnological method, as well as dosage forms based on these substances, processes for their production, installation and equipment for t hnologicheskih of processes, devices and methods for studying the properties and quality control of drugs and medicines on their basis.

Graduate FPTL in accordance with the fundamental and special training can perform the following professional activities:
