Program Description

MA in Tourism Management, Health Management, Green Business Management

bbw University of Applied Sciences

MA in Tourism Management, Health Management, Green Business Management

The business Master's program complements a successfully completed Bachelor degree in business or industrial engineering. You the student have the option to specialize in one of three alternatives: tourism management, health management, or green business management, to develop a specialized professional profile.

With a Master's degree in business, graduates can operate in management positions in almost all companies in the manufacturing and service industries. Another goal is to familiarize graduates with the characteristics of medium-sized companies in order to prepare them for management positions in this sector. As such, the program is suitable for both company founders, as well as students planning to take over a family business. The Master's program will strengthen the ability of the graduates to work scientifically and equip them to carry out independent academic research. This opens opportunities for professional roles in scientific and research institutions as well as companies and to pursue an ongoing academic professional up to a doctorate. The academic Master's degree is a requirement for taking on higher positions in public companies

Through the bbw University of Applied Science's close business links, practical orientation is at the foreground. Through its association with the fib Research Institute, the bbw University of Applied Sciences offers the opportunity to acquire direct experience on research projects.

The generalist Business Master's program encompasses a four semester full-time business course or a five-semester part-time extra-occupational course.

The course will train academics to also apply their problem-solving abilities in new and unfamiliar situations, associated with their studied subject in a broad, multi-disciplinary context and to therefore perform their independent application-based projects with a high level of autonomy. In addition to fundamental professional knowledge, the curriculum and course format aim to communicate diverse scientific attitudes and methods in order and to identify and solve practice-related problems.

The first and second semester of the program are explicitly dedicated to economic sciences. Business-related content is also included in subsequent modules. The second and third semesters of the course are conceived in order that students can develop their individual profiles. The specializations in tourism and health or green business management enable students to develop and deepen specializations begun as undergraduates, or even to discover additional areas of interest. In line with these goals, there is also a focus on the demands of academic research and the acquisition of extended management skills.
