Business today faces considerable challenges such as the accelerating pace of economic change, global competition and deregulation, rapid technological innovation and volatile markets. This course offers an opportunity to study the conceptual and practical demands of international business and the management of cultural diversity.
This course will combine the development of the practical skills of facilitating the successful operation of an internationally-focused concern with the enhancement of the individuals' personal and intellectual development.
While the course allows specialisation through option choice, the main emphasis is upon the development of generic qualities and abilities relevant to international business. This emphasis is justified because of the need in modern international organisations for functional flexibility, inter-departmental and inter-professional collaboration, and organisational capability.
