Master in Museum Studies

In an era of increased globalization, digitization and collaboration, museums have evolved into important and vital sites for community engagement and public dialogue. The USF M.A. in Museum Studies Program focuses on design and curatorial practice; education and new technologies; conservation and heritage preservation; and arts and cultural management, financial management and project management. The San Francisco Experience

Museum Studies students enjoy the rich experiences available in San Francisco, one of the world’s most vibrant, cosmopolitan and beautiful cities. Walking distance to the major museum complexes of Golden Gate Park – including the de Young Museum and the California Academy of Sciences – USF also lies near the museums and cultural institutions in downtown San Francisco, Berkeley, Oakland, Palo Alto, and San Jose.
