The Leeds Week
At the mid-point, the MSc programme includes an eventful week in Leeds. During that week participants' days are full of academic and social activities and they have the opportunity to become familiar with British companies, find out about the challenges faced by British managers, and present and discuss their findings before a plenum of experts from the worlds of academia and business. They will have plenty of opportunities to explore the Leeds University campus, listen in at lectures and meet Leeds students.
An excursion to the fascinating countryside of the Yorkshire Dales on one of the days will give participants an impression of the area surrounding Leeds. In the evening participants are free to do as they wish. Whether they choose to relax or enjoy some night life, Leeds is one of the country's most dynamic cities and has lots to offer.
The Leeds MSc in Business Management
German Graduate School of Management and Law collaborates with Leeds University Business School (LUBS) to offer the MSc in Business Management programme.
Designed for university graduates, the MSc in Business Management programme provides students business know-how as well as the analytical and management skills required for a successful career in today's work world. You will be exposed to management concepts, knowledge and skills which have practical applications in the workplace.
The MSc in Business Management is a recognised postgraduate qualification that is highly valued both in the public and private sectors. You will be taught in Heilbronn at German Graduate School of Management and Law by highly-qualified teaching staff with research and consultancy experience from Leeds University Business School.
This will be complemented by support for your personal development through cooperative and participatory approaches to learning as well as opportunities to share your ideas and experiences with students from a wide range of different backgrounds. Professional development sessions will also furnish you with opportunities to improve your personal and interpersonal management skills and assist you with your career planning.
The programme starts in January and is taught over a period of 18 months, followed by a master's thesis from March to September.
Personal and professional development
The academic element of personal and professional development is based on the realisation that career desires, skill levels and a person's willingness to accept new functions and positions is something that changes constantly. Consequently, the career development aspect for students with long-term ties to their current employers is just as important it is for students interested in changing directions. The MSc in Business Management programme offers them an opportunity to systematically think about their preferences, skills and individual career paths.
