The Full-time Master of Science Shipping and Transport program offers you a combination of extensive knowledge and skills training, enabling you to fulfil a management position in the shipping and transport industry. As a participant of the program you will be exposed to a multidisciplinary view on maritime, port, transport and logistics issues and to complex management problems.
The full-time program has a total duration of twelve to eighteen months. Courses will be taught for 11 months. During the last block you will start the thesis research project. Classes, excursions and hands-on training, such as management games and simulator exercises will be scheduled from Monday to Friday.
The program offers various means of knowledge transfer and skill development, including lectures, seminars, case assignments, presentations and hands-on training. Upon your graduation you will be equipped to solve complicated management problems, having gained required knowledge and competences such as:
- Integrated multi-disciplinary professional knowledge on shipping and transport at highest academic level and skills to apply this knowledge on tactical and strategic level in the shipping and transport industry.
- Awareness of social responsibilities in shipping and transport, related to labor conditions, safety, security and protection of the environment.
- Leadership, persuasiveness, social skills, e.g. cooperation, communication, negotiation.
- Express an analytic attitude, creativeness and research capabilities.
The program is fully taught in English on Campus.

Working during your stay: Non-EU students with a permit for the purpose of study are only allowed to work a limited amount of hours a week or do seasonal labour. More information can be found at www.ind.nl.
