The Intensive English Language Programme (IELP)
The Intensive Language Programme (IELP) has been run successfully for many years now at International Business School. Its primary objective is to prepare students for continuing their studies in English at the higher educational level. It is, therefore, first and foremost recommended for those who eventually wish to obtain a degree from International Business School / Oxford Brookes University. But it is also ideal for those who simply want to improve their English for various purposes.
The programme includes teaching 23 hours of English per week that is 600 hours per academic year. All the language teachers are highly qualified and have substantial experience in teaching. The programme also offers the unique opportunity of learning 6 hours Business English per week at all levels (except for the absolute Beginners). Students are grouped according to their actual level of English, the levels range from Beginner to Upper-Intermediate / Advanced. Russian Language Summer Course 2010
Narva College of the University of Tartu is delighted to invite participants from different countries, who wish to develop their Russian language skills. The program is aimed at participants with the A1 level in Russian.
The number of academic hours: 80 (6 ECTS)
The training/ the course is based on the discussion of current issues as well as games and other tasks to improve speaking skills.
Each topic will be taught using a variety of activities to develop listening, reading and speaking skills. Course materials will include adapted texts, authentic video and audio resources and the like. The course is based on the communicative approach and real communication situations. The training will take place both in the classroom (in the form of everyday grammar and speaking practice) and outdoors (through speaking practice in the language environment and study trips)....

Semiotics - semester program
This program covers semiotic knowledge in historical, theoretical and applied perspectives. The program includes three main fields of semiotics - cultural, social and biological semiotics, providing insight into the methodology and contemporary applications of semiotic analysis. Several courses introduce the Estonian semiotic tradition and the work of the Tartu-Moscow School of Cultural Semitics.

Kursseille ovat tervetulleita kaikki, jotka haluavat oppia viroa tai parantaa kielitaitoaan aidossa kieliympäristössä sekä viettää Viron kesän kauneimmat hetket mukavassa seurassa monipuolisten kulttuurielämysten Tartossa.
Viron kielen kurssi (lähdekielenä suomi) sisältää 35 tuntia viron kielen opetusta sekä 15 tuntia Viroa käsitteleviä luentoja, elokuvia, museovierailuja ja Tarton kaupunkikierroksen. Lisäksi on mahdollisuus tavata mielenkiintoisia paikallisia ihmisiä.
