PhD
The PhD is the highest level of academic degree awarded and is a very demanding programme of research study. The award of the degree denotes that you have a strong command of your subject area, have developed high-level skills of analysis and critical appraisal, are able to use appropriately a range of research methodologies, and can work independently.
The minimum length of time for a PhD is 3 years full-time or 6 years part-time.
During your period of research, you will have two supervisors.
At the end of your research period you will be expected to have completed an extended thesis of up to 100,000 words, demonstrating evidence of your capacity to pursue scholarly research independently. The thesis must make an original contribution to knowledge and be of a standard appropriate for publication in a quality, peer-reviewed learned journal of international standing. You would normally expect a PhD thesis to contain the equivalent of at least three articles publishable in such a journal. You will also be required to defend your thesis at an oral examination or 'viva' normally conducted by two examiners, usually one internal and one external to the University....

The Intensive English Language Programme (IELP)
The Intensive Language Programme (IELP) has been run successfully for many years now at International Business School. Its primary objective is to prepare students for continuing their studies in English at the higher educational level. It is, therefore, first and foremost recommended for those who eventually wish to obtain a degree from International Business School / Oxford Brookes University. But it is also ideal for those who simply want to improve their English for various purposes.
The programme includes teaching 23 hours of English per week that is 600 hours per academic year. All the language teachers are highly qualified and have substantial experience in teaching. The programme also offers the unique opportunity of learning 6 hours Business English per week at all levels (except for the absolute Beginners). Students are grouped according to their actual level of English, the levels range from Beginner to Upper-Intermediate / Advanced. The BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration) is a one year program (September-May) leading to the awarding of the Bachelor of Business Administration degree.
