The PhD is the highest level of academic degree awarded and is a very demanding programme of research study. The award of the degree denotes that you have a strong command of your subject area, have developed high-level skills of analysis and critical appraisal, are able to use appropriately a range of research methodologies, and can work independently.

The minimum length of time for a PhD is 3 years full-time or 6 years part-time.

During your period of research, you will have two supervisors.

At the end of your research period you will be expected to have completed an extended thesis of up to 100,000 words, demonstrating evidence of your capacity to pursue scholarly research independently. The thesis must make an original contribution to knowledge and be of a standard appropriate for publication in a quality, peer-reviewed learned journal of international standing. You would normally expect a PhD thesis to contain the equivalent of at least three articles publishable in such a journal. You will also be required to defend your thesis at an oral examination or 'viva' normally conducted by two examiners, usually one internal and one external to the University....

The Intensive Language Programme (IELP) has been run successfully for many years now at International Business School. Its primary objective is to prepare students for continuing their studies in English at the higher educational level. It is, therefore, first and foremost recommended for those who eventually wish to obtain a degree from International Business School / Oxford Brookes University. But it is also ideal for those who simply want to improve their English for various purposes.

The programme includes teaching 23 hours of English per week that is 600 hours per academic year. All the language teachers are highly qualified and have substantial experience in teaching. The programme also offers the unique opportunity of learning 6 hours Business English per week at all levels (except for the absolute Beginners). Students are grouped according to their actual level of English, the levels range from Beginner to Upper-Intermediate / Advanced. Once they have fulfilled the requirements of the first semester, students continue their studies on the next, higher level of English language....

Non-law graduates who want to become solicitors or barristers must take the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL). The diploma is also highly regarded in other law-related career fields.

Our GDL is suitable both for recent graduates and more experienced graduates from diverse backgrounds who wish to change or develop their careers.

You can take the course full-time over a year (36 weeks, from September to June) or part-time over two years. The former means that you complete the qualification as quickly as possible. The latter gives you the chance, by attending the University for one day a week for a total of 72 weeks, to study for the qualification while keeping up your work and family commitments. ...

The BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration) is a one year program (September-May) leading to the awarding of the Bachelor of Business Administration degree. The BBA is equivalent to a "licence" in France which is the highest undergraduate degree in the country. The program is open to both French and international students to enable them once to Nancy to learn French.

BBA Course Content

The courses are taught entirely in English. A good command of the language is required. In order to help international students learn French while in France, French language courses are also required.

Management

Executive Education Program (EEP) offers in Korean & English tailored short-term courses centered on practical business. EEP faculty have strong business backgrounds and are renowned in Korean academia.

Classes are highly participatory, using innovative teaching methods. EEP includes study of the latest cases, hands-on experience and action-based learning. Several EEPs to develop financial specialists and brand managers are currently in progress.

Post Graduate Diploma / Professional Diploma in Hospitality Administration

This intensive program consists of two taught semesters and one internship in the hospitality industry of 3 to 6 months. The Post Graduate curriculum is designed for career-changers or students who need to gain the basic administrative skills for hospitality operations. Additionally, students take a wide variety of courses for the general business management practices in hospitality.  The Capstone project in Event Management allows the PGD students to use their creativity and newly gained food and beverage management skills to design a special event for their fellow students.
